Have an idea, challenge, organization, community,
or simply a possibility you'd like to explore?
Let's find a time that works and see where the conversation takes us.
Some conversations don't need an agenda. Just a comfortable chair, a little curiosity, and a willingness to see where the conversation takes us.
Wayne from theMindsuite and I have a habit of getting into conversations about communities.
And sooner or later, one of us usually asks:
It's an interesting question because it doesn't begin with what we've always done, why something won't work, or who owns which piece.
It simply gives us permission to wonder.
What if we brought together the right people?
Connected a few ideas that hadn't been connected before?
Shared some knowledge, experience, and resources?
Tried something?
We don't always know where those conversations are going.
Sometimes you don't need to know the destination.
You just need someone willing to explore the possibility with you.
Here's another conversation I find myself having.
Research suggests that across many of the things we use to distinguish one group of people from another, we may actually have far more in common than we realize.
And yet we can spend an extraordinary amount of energy on the relatively small part where we disagree.
Our differences matter. They make life interesting. They challenge our thinking and sometimes help us see things we couldn't see on our own.
But imagine beginning somewhere else.
What could we solve?
What could we learn from one another?
What could we build together?
Maybe we'd discover that the distance between us isn't quite as great as we thought.
And the differences that remain?
We can probably work through a few of those over a good beer.
